Excelerator Password 2.0

Excelerator Password is a macOS utility built to simplify repetitive work with password-protected Microsoft Excel workbooks.

I originally built Excelerator to solve a workflow I was dealing with myself: processing protected Excel files for different clients, often using the same passwords over and over. Opening each workbook individually, entering credentials, changing the protection, saving the file, closing it, and repeating the process became unnecessarily time-consuming.

Excelerator turns that repetitive process into a focused Mac workflow.

Add supported .xlsx, .xlsm, and legacy .xls workbooks and Excelerator determines what each file needs—lock, unlock, or modernize. Different actions can be reviewed and processed together in the same batch.

For repeat workflows, client passwords can be securely stored in macOS Keychain so they don't need to be entered again and again.

Workbook processing happens locally on the Mac. Files and passwords aren't uploaded to a remote processing service, and Microsoft Excel doesn't need to be opened to process supported workbooks.

Excelerator Password 2.0 expands the original utility into a more complete workflow while keeping the app focused on the problem it was created to solve: making repetitive Excel password work faster and easier.

Excelerator Password is my first Mac app and is available on the Mac App Store.
